The current building that houses the centre was completed in 1904 and is heritage-listed. It is an excellent place to have a swim and the only issue is parking.
Historical building. Maybe your hotel doesn't have a gym, or it does have a gym but only a minimalist one. A day pass costs about $23 (AUD). Get to swim for hrs and inside is nice with good modern facilities whilst retaining their old charm. Fear not however, mixed bathing was introduced in 1947.

The changing rooms are clean, the pool is bright and nicely designed (although it takes some getting used to the random 30-metre length) and the receptionists are friendly.
