There are a surfeit of things that are pretty well done, and this is so memorably tirade-y that it’s hard not to admire some of it. It is a very emotional film for Czechs and there is a lot of context to understand. One of the best Czech films. This masterpiece is one of the very few I could find available of Czech cinema.

This is the first time I've watched it and maybe that's the problem. If you’re into art-house films, this is a must see comedy. I also love that the book this was based off is called Flaming Feces (Hovno Hoří).I had a little trouble with the tone shifts in this film. With a looming uprising in the background, the movie shows the thought processes and the faiths that the men had in their systems and how they get crushed by the end of the movie.
