There are several miles of delays following the incidentThere are long queues for M25 traffic on the anticlockwise carriageway following a collision involving a lorry.The crash happened at around 3.30pm this afternoon, (Tuesday, July 7), between junction 2 for the Darenth Interchange and the Dartford Tunnels.It is reported that a lorry collided into a crash barrier.Three lanes of the motorway were closed as a result of the accident which is causing queues stretching back around four miles.Highways England have now held all traffic while emergency services deal with the incident.A photograph from the incident shows  a heavy goods vehicle across two lanes after having hit the side barriers.A number of emergency vehicles, including police and ambulance crews have been dispatched to the scene.The traffic is expected to worsen as rush hour approaches.Police have confirmed that a man has died following the serious lorry collision on the M25 earlier today.All lanes have reopened after the lorry was successfully recovered from the motorway.However, there are still more than three miles of queues on the approach to the Dartford Tunnel as traffic starts to return to normal.With more than seven miles of queues, traffic officers have warned that drivers could face two-hour delays in the area.Diversions have been put in place to avoid congestion.A spokesperson for Kent Police said: “ Kent Police was called between junction 1b and 1a of the M25 at 3.23pm on Tuesday, 7 July 2020 following a report of a serious road traffic collision involving one vehicle.“South East Coast Ambulance Service have been called to the scene and three lanes are currently closed.For anyone travelling on the M25 at the moment you may want to avoid the anticlockwise stretch from the Dartford Tunnels to junction 2.There has been a serious collision, and we will be bringing you all the latest updates on the incident and traffic in the area.The accident caused major delays for the Dartford CrossingUnits from both Essex and Kent police are at the scene
