Your recently viewed items and featured recommendations I can remember trying to read other stuff by Heinlein as I was so impressed with this book when I first came across it but felt very disappointed by his other works, this stands out as exceptional and I highly recommend you read it. A great story, characters you'd like to know, and a nice format size edition. I've read a lot of Heinlein's work in the past and usually enjoyed... well, most of it.

A great book for anyone interested in libertarianism and the art of revolution.

It is an open prison, in the sense that once you are there you can do what you want, except leave.

A decent enough premise but just doesn't live up to its potential.

This book is seen as a classic of the libertarian non-fiction catalogue and you can see why as in effect it retells the American Revolution but in a sci-fi setting. The story is about a rebellion by the moonies, and their fight for independence. Reviewed in the United Kingdom on September 22, 2016

And bought it again in Kindle format even though I still have the paperback because I don't know how many times I would still read it again before I die.Reviewed in the United Kingdom on December 26, 2018 Comment by sabernymph A small fyi for any demon hunters attempting this. Robert Heinlein brings together so many strands in this story of the winning of independence for the Moon, much technical knowledge, while still creating believable characters and great story telling. Fantastic book.

Please try again. The Moon is a Harsh Mistress is without a doubt the most boring, soulless, stacked revolution I’ve ever read.

However, it really could have done with a more thorough edit as there is a lot of repetition in places and at other times the reader is hit over the head by the author as parallels to 1776 are pointed out. Robert A. Heinlein is the master of the genre and this, one of his earliest books, is absorbing and prescient.

Lots of social experiments and as always many words of wisdom from Robert Heinlein

By third year Mike had better than one and a half times that number of neuristors. No Kindle device required. My old copy was falling apart, and this makes a fine replacement.

Some interesting predictions about a World federation that seems ever closer with a looming New World Order with India and China at the forefront. It is the year 2076, and the Moon is a penal colony for the rebellious and the unwanted of Earth. Really enjoyed this.

Well worth a reread, hopefully this copy will not go astray.
